Are You the Catalyst for Someone’s Request?

https://commandingyourlife.com/?p=3917Are You the Catalyst for Someone’s Request?

When you are asking for something or someone to come into your life a number of things need to happen.  We know that when we ask it is already completed in the subjective or heavenly realm.  The key is that it needs to manifest into our physical world.  How is that done?

In my mind, it is like an artist beginning a painting.  The idea is in their head, they draw a sketch; gather the paint, brushes, oils, canvas, rags, water and whatever else they may need before they even begin to paint.  All things must be put into place for the artists to begin painting the picture on the canvas.

You may have heard of the butterfly effect.  The phrase refers to the idea that a butterfly’s wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that may ultimately alter the path of a tornado or delay, accelerate or even prevent the occurrence of a tornado in another location.

Based on a series of events that need to occur, when we ask for something to appear in our life it may appear as quickly as a few seconds or as long as many years.

I was thinking the other day of a request I had when I was single and in my 20’s.   I wanted to buy a house.  However, my belief system made me feel that I couldn’t buy a house without being married.  Therefore, the houses that I subsequently purchased were with my spouse.  Today I am single and own a home.  I now have what I desired in my 20s because my belief system changed.  Through a number of coincidences or designed sequences, I was able to purchase easily and with little effort.

There are times that I believe that we are the butterfly in someone’s request.  On May 5, I was at the campground and went to the bathhouse to take a shower.  I like long showers so it’s easier and more convenient to use the communal bathhouse.  While there I used a stall that I don’t normally use because it doesn’t work properly.  As I went in I realized it was the wrong one and I just said okay I’ll use this one instead of moving next door.  I flushed, walked out and started my shower.  When I turned off the water, I heard the commode running.  I did what we normally do and went and shook the handle but it didn’t do anything.  I realize that it was broken.  Being the handy person than I am, I lifted the lid and realize that the hose had come loose and it was stopping the flapper from closing, not allowing the water to fill the tank.  I repaired it.

Later I began to wonder how I change someone’s day or life by simply repairing the commode.  By doing that simple act, I stopped the waste of water and prevented the need to call maintenance.  How did that change the maintenance person’s day?  How did that change the manager of the campgrounds day?  What did saving the water from going down the commode do for the water company?  My repairing that commode may have saved someone’s life because the maintenance person didn’t have to take the time to fix it.  They instead went somewhere else to do a repair or they went home earlier and maybe missed an accident; and they never knew that this repair or non-repair was a possibility in their lifetime.  I don’t know what that one simple act did but I know it changed the events of someone’s day.

Have you had the opportunity to do an unselfish act?  Have you had the opportunity to let a car in front of you when they were merging on the highway or turning in from a side street or shopping center?  Have you had an opportunity to do something that you did or didn’t do?  As you go about your life you may have had random opportunities placed in your path.  You may be the catalyst that starts the dominoes falling to give someone else or even you, the request of a lifetime.
